11 Things I've Learned from Reading Harry Potter

There are life lessons all around us. The question is, are we paying attention well enough to notice the lessons. I threw together a quick list of 11 things that I learned when I read through the Harry Potter series over the last five months. Without further ado, here are, in no particular order, 11 Things I've Learned from Reading Harry Potter.

1. You aren't meant to do things alone.

2. Although school doesn't teach you everything, it gives you a great foundation to build on.

3. When it seems like you have a terrible teacher, it's nothing unless your teacher makes you carve words into the back of your hand.

4. Make the best of what's before you.

5. Study groups can save your life (maybe literally) and help you pass classes with poor teachers.

6. The people you think are craziest may end up as your closest friends.

7. There can be tremendous power in trust and friendship.

8. The advice and guidance of older people may not make sense, but, if they're good, it's for a trustworthy purpose.

9. Emotions like love can seem confusing or even weak, but that doesn't mean they should be ignored.

10. The people that hate you won't hesitate to spread lies about you - don't believe them.

11. Kindness to an enemy is not forgotten.

Have you read the Harry Potter series?
What are some lessons that you picked up?
